The CTT present this Tuesday, October 22, a philatelic issuance of three stamps and a block with a stamp on the Three Kings, with a unique feature in the world: the stamp of the philatelic block, has led light on the star. where a light-emitting diode is inserted, which is activated via a mobile phone with NFC technology.

According to Raúl Moreira, CTT's Philately Director, “CTT has the fame and benefit of finding absolute novelties in the postage stamp chapter every year. 

The seals of this issue correspond to each of the Magi known. 

Gold as a symbol of royalty, incense as a symbol of divinity, and myrrh as a symbol of passion, were the offerings of the Magi to the Messiah, whose birth was indicated by a star, a symbol of that royalty. 

This issue consists of three stamps with a face value of € 0.53, € 0.86 and € 0.91 and a circulation of 100 000 copies each, as well as a block with a stamp worth € 3.50 and a circulation of 50 000 copies. 

The first day obliterations will be made at the Restauradores stores in Lisbon, Municipal II in Porto, Zarco in Funchal and Antero de Quental in Ponta Delgada.

The Monument to Minin and Pozharsky (Russian: Па́мятник Ми́нину и Пожа́рскому) is a bronze statue designed by Ivan Martos and located on the Red Square in Moscow, Russia, in front of Saint Basil's Cathedral. The statue commemorates Prince Dmitry Pozharsky and Kuzma Minin, who gathered an all-Russian volunteer army and expelled the forces of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth under the command of King Sigismund III of Poland from Moscow, thus putting an end to the Time of Troubles in 1612.

The monument was conceived by the Free Society of Lovers of Literature, Science, and the Arts to commemorate the 200th anniversary of those events. Construction was funded by public conscription in Nizhny Novgorod, the city from where Minin and Pozharsky came to save Moscow. Tsar Alexander I, however, decided the monument should be installed on Red Square next to the Moscow Kremlin rather than in Nizhny Novgorod. The competition for the best design was won by the celebrated sculptor Ivan Martos in 1808. Martos completed a model, which was approved by Dowager Empress Maria Feodorovna and the Russian Academy of Fine Arts in 1813. Casting work using 1100 lbs of copper was carried out in 1816 in St Petersburg. The base, made of three massive blocks of granite from Finland, was also carved at St Petersburg. Moving the statue and base to Moscow presented logistical challenges and was accomplished in winter by using the frozen waterways. However, in the wake of Napoleon's invasion of Russia, the monument could not be unveiled until 1818.

The front of the base carries a bronze plaque depicting a scene of patriotic citizens sacrificing their property for the benefit of the motherland. On the left is an image of the sculptor Martos giving away his two sons (one of whom was killed in 1813)

Originally, the statue stood in the centre of Red Square, with Minin extending his hand towards the Moscow Kremlin. However, after the 1917 Revolution, the Communist authorities found the monument was obstructing parades on the square and discussed its demolition or transfer to some indoor museum. In 1936, the statue was moved closer to the cathedral where it remains to the present day.

Algarvia alba is a small nudibranch, growing to 15 mm in length. It has a distinctive appearance, with a white body, white cerata and bright orange-red oral tentacles and rhinophores and an orange line across the front of the head.
 

Babakina is in the subfamily Babakininae within the family Flabellinidae in the taxonomy of the Gastropoda by Bouchet & Rocroi (2005). Babakina is the type genus of the subfamily Babakininae.

Felimare picta is a species of colourful sea slug or dorid nudibranch, a marine gastropod mollusk in the family. Chromodorididae Atlantic Ocean species of Hypselodoris were all transferred to Felimare following a DNA phylogeny.

O Correio do Algarve - Breve Abordagem Histórica através do Colecionismo

No ano de 2020 comemora-se os 500 anos da criação dos correios em Portugal, assinala-se ainda em inúmeros países europeus através da emissão EUROPA as “Rotas postais antigas”, como tal, os Amigos da Filatelia decidiram associar-se a estes temas e trazer para São Brás de Alportel uma exposição de colecionismo que tem por base estes dois temas.

O documento mais antigo relativo ao correio no Algarve data de 04 de novembro de 1702, no qual se cria o correio ordinário para o Reino do Algarve. A partir desta data muito se passou estando o Correio extremamente associado à história de maioria das localidades algarvias, abordando-se algumas destas questões nesta exposição de colecionismo.
