In, July CTT will presented a set of postcards dedicated to the Madeira Photographic Museum - Atelier Vicente's, installed in the old photographic studio of Vicente Gomes da Silva (1827-1906), who started his activity as a portrait artist, around 1853, having acquired the aforementioned building, located at Rua da Carreira, in 1865 and there he built his «Atelier Fotográfico».
The postcard shows the entrance staircase to the atelier of the Madeira Image Museum - Atelier Vicente's in 2019, a digital image; an image by Vicente Gomes da Silva, Júnior (1857-1933) (1870-1880), a glass negative in gelatin and silver salts; and a 1916 Kodak No. 3A Folding Autographic Special camera.
This museum is an ex-libris of the architecture of the 19th century photographic ateliers, having passed through the studio four generations of the «Vicentes» Family with the art of photography.
