Gandhi was a convinced defender of Ahinsa, a principle of not committing violence against other beings. “He believed that if each of us took responsibility for his own personal development and responded wisely and conscientiously to even the most unfair situations, truth, peace and love would prevail. He has always defended universal brotherhood and not only lived these universal values but also integrated them into all areas of life, including politics, advocating the concept of the Ideal State (Ram Rajya), fighting for truth and justice through spiritual force (Satyagraha ), building the poor (Sarvodaya), and promoting self-sufficiency (Swadeshi), people's participation in social change (Jan Bhagidari) and ecological development, ”said India's Ambassador to Portugal, K.
