Maximum Card Theodor Herzl

Stamp: Israel, Commemorating the 50th Anniversary of the Death of Theodor Herzl – 160 Prutot, Brown/Sepia (Yvert IL 78T). The stamp includes the side "tab" (appendage), a distinctive and highly valued element in Israeli philately.

Postmark: Jerusalem, Har Herzl (Mount Herzl) – First Day of Issue postmark, dated July 21, 1954 (20 Tamuz 5714 in the Hebrew calendar).

Postcard: Classic photograph of Theodor Herzl. Official edition by the "Israel Philatelic Exchange Club" (Tel-Aviv), published specifically for the 50th anniversary of his death.

Concordance

Thematic: Perfect. The postcard reproduces the iconic image of Herzl, which served as the basis for the stamp's design. The visual harmony is absolute, fulfilling the fundamental requirement that the postcard and stamp images must be concordant.
Geographic: Absolute. The postmark comes from Har Herzl (Mount Herzl) in Jerusalem, the site of Theodor Herzl's tomb. In maximaphily, there is no location of greater concordance for this subject than the final resting place of the person honored.
Temporal: Maximum (First Day). The piece was cancelled on the exact day of the stamp's issuance (07/21/1954). The temporal concordance is perfect, making this maximum card a "First Day" (FDC Maximum Card), which grants it a superior status in competitive collections.
