(Issue: 20/03/2026)

The stamp reproduces the public sculpture “Trilogia dos Poderes” by Amândio de Sousa, using a photographic image by Roberto Matos. Both the stamp and the postcard were conceived together as part of a unified commemorative project, ensuring full iconographic and symbolic coherence.

Postmark: Funchal, official First Day of Issue commemorative postmark “50 Anos da Assembleia Legislativa da Região Autónoma da Madeira”, applied on the exact day of issue of the stamp and exclusively associated with this special emission.

Postcard: Colour photographic postcard produced specifically for this commemorative issue, depicting the sculpture “Trilogia dos Poderes” by Amândio de Sousa, photographed by Roberto Matos. The image shows three vertically aligned, stylised human figures forming a single monumental structure, symbolising the legislative, executive and judicial powers.

Although created expressly for the stamp issue, the postcard illustrates a real, autonomous work of public art, physically existing in an institutional context, and was conceived as a valid illustrated support rather than a mere enlargement of the stamp. (Special Edition – CTT)

Concordance:

Thematic: Perfect thematic concordance is achieved. Both the stamp and the postcard depict the same artwork, Trilogia dos Poderes, which directly symbolises democratic governance and the separation of powers, the central theme of the 50th anniversary of the Assembly of Madeira.

Geographic: The sculpture is associated with the institutional and political space of the Região Autónoma da Madeira, and the first day postmark originates from Funchal, ensuring full geographic consistency between subject, stamp and cancellation.

Temporal: The use of a first day of issue postmark establishes absolute temporal concordance. The cancellation date coincides exactly with the official release of both the stamp and the specially produced postcard, corresponding to the highest standard of chronological precision in maximaphily.
