Country: USA
Issue: Yellowstone Park Issue – 1934 (Old Faithful Geyser)
Date of Issue: July 30, 1934
Postmark: Wavy-line cancel – Yellowstone Park, WY – January 8, 1935
Postcard: Color illustration of Old Faithful Geyser erupting to a height of 150 feet; captioned “Old Faithful Geyser, Height 150 Feet". (Edition C.T. Art-Colortone)
Justification of Maximum Concordance:
The stamp depicts Old Faithful Geyser, one of Yellowstone National Park’s most iconic natural features. The postcard shows the same landmark in detail, reinforcing the subject visually. The cancellation from Yellowstone Park provides strong geographic concordance, and although the postmark date is months after the stamp’s issue, it falls within the commemorative period, making this a valid maximum card.
